เดี๋ยวนี้วันส่งท้ายปีเก่าของทุกปี ผมมักจะเอาเพลง “Auld Lang Syne” มาเปิดตอนเที่ยงคืน เป็นไฟล์เพลงแบบ midi มีแต่เสียงดนตรี เข้ากับบรรยากาศดี ซึ่งในต่างประเทศเค้านิยมกันมาก (ดูรายละเอียดได้ที่ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auld_Lang_Syne )

มีหนังอยู่เรื่องนึงที่ผมชอบมากๆ ในเรื่องจะมีฉากเกี่ยวกับคริสต์มาสต่อมาถึงปีใหม่ และก็เป็นจุดไคลแมกซ์ของเรื่องด้วย เรื่องนั้นคือ “When Harry Met Sally… ” หรือชื่อไทยว่า เพื่อนรักเพื่อน เป็นหนังรักโรแมนติก เกี่ยวกับความสัมพันธ์แบบเพื่อนของคนสองคนที่สุดท้ายต้องใช้เวลาถึง 12 ปีจึงได้กลายมาเป็นคนรักกัน

ในช่วงท้ายของหนัง เป็นฉากในวันส่งท้ายปีเก่า นางเอกไปงานฉลองคนเดียวอย่างซังกะตาย ส่วนพระเอกก็นั่งเหงาอยู่คนเดียว แล้วออกมาเดินข้างนอก คิดถึงเหตุการณ์ที่ผ่านมา แล้วเขาก็ตัดสินใจได้จึงวิ่งไปหานางเอกในงานเลี้ยงซึ่งนางเอกกำลังจะกลับพอดี แล้วพระเอกก็สารภาพรักกับเธอ และตอนนั้นก็เป็นเวลาเที่ยงคืน ในงานก็เปิดเพลง Auld Lang Syne เป็นแบล็คกราวน์ในขณะที่ทั้งสองกำลังปรับความเข้าใจกัน

Harry: What does this song mean? For my whole life I don’t know what this song means. I mean, “Should old acquaintance be forgot”. Does that mean we should forget old acquaintances, or does it mean if we happen to forget them we should remember them, which is not possible because we already forgot them?

Sally: Well, maybe it just means that we should remember that we forgot them or something. Anyway, it’s about old friends.
